Turning 60

My family wanted the party. I wanted a single piece of chocolate cake.
Not because I don't like parties. I do.
But this milestone felt different.
At this age, birthdays become less about counting years and more about appreciating them.
We're at an age where we're attending more funerals than weddings.
Where we realize tomorrow isn't promised.
Where every ordinary day starts to feel extraordinary.
So I celebrate every day now.
Not just the milestones.

โข Health is wealth. Protect it fiercely.
โข Family extends far beyond your genetic pool. The people who show up matter.
โข You can learn anything at this age-even building your own website.
โข No job is worth sacrificing your mental well-being.
โข Stop expecting people to do what you would've done. They won't. And that's okay.
โข Self-awareness is a gift that keeps on giving.
โข Your attitude matters more than your age.
โข Success becomes less about achievement and more about alignment.
โข And maybe the biggest one...
Retirement needs a new definition.
I don't think of it as stopping work anymore.
I think of it as financial independence.
The freedom to spend your time in ways that reflect your values.
The courage to reinvent yourself.
The wisdom to know what matters.
And the discipline to protect your health, relationships, and purpose as fiercely as you once protected your career.
That's really what Retirement Fitnessโข is all about.
Not preparing for the end of something.
Preparing for the possibility of everything.
So yes...
My 60th birthday was quiet.
Just me with the people I love.
And a single piece of chocolate cake.
Turns out, that's exactly how I wanted to celebrate a life I'm still building.
What's something you know at 60-or wish you knew sooner?
